eCollege has unveiled the first phase of the Learning Outcome Manager. This powerful assessment tool will enable online learning institutions to assemble, manage and analyze data from student performance results to ensure adherence to institutional learning standards. Learning Outcome Manager will help eCollege Educational Partners improve the effectiveness of their instruction and ensure students achieve the institution’s desired level of learning.
Learning Outcome Manager (LOM) Phase I enables learning institutions to create a central repository for all learning statements. The repository provides an easy-to-use, flexible interface in which institutions can create hierarchical structures for program- and course-level learning outcomes.
By providing an organized structure for defined learning outcomes, institutions can make the first step toward effectively reporting on their learning standards. Learning Outcome Manager’s repository and reporting capabilities allow institutions to quickly respond to accreditation reviews with reports that adhere to accreditation standards. Additionally, eCollege enables institutions to analyze their learning results and develop data-informed strategies to continuously improve program performance.
“We’re very excited to release Learning Outcome Manager to our educational partners,” said Matt Leavy, eCollege Chief Executive Officer. “eCollege has been working closely with our educational partners to create this solution, which will help them meet increased demands for performance visibility. Phase One offers important management capabilities and lays the foundation for a powerful assessment and accreditation tool in online learning.”
eCollege will release additional features for Learning Outcome Manager in multiple phases. Each release will offer increasingly complex and beneficial capabilities. The next release will allow institutions to connect and align defined learning outcomes with course objects, such as content and discussions. The third release of Learning Outcome Manager will offer more advanced reporting on student mastery of learning outcomes. The final release will integrate with eCollege’s portfolio and reporting suites.
